Eligibility to Vote

Requirements

To register to vote, a person must

  • Be a citizen of the United States (NRS 293.485)
  • Be 17 years of age or older
  • Actually, physically, and legally (not constructively) continuously reside in White Pine County for 30 days and in the precinct for 10 days preceding the day of the next succeeding election
  • Provide official identification as proof of residence and identity, such as:
    • Current Nevada Driver's License
    • Current Nevada State Identification Card
    • Rent receipt with pre-printed address
    • Bank statement or pre-printed check
    • Credit card statement
    • Car registration or proof of insurance
    • Government document (tax bill, income information)
    • Current utility bill
  • Provide Social Security number, Nevada driver's license, or Nevada identification card number (NRS 293.507)

Any person who has been convicted of a felony and has not had his/her civil rights legally restored, or has been legally declared insane or mentally incompetent, is not eligible to register to vote.

Only registered voters may vote.
